Junior Coaching

Our Junior Section at Ladybank is always looking to help your child get the most out of their golf and to improve any aspect of it to increase their enjoyment. We have had some top Scottish golfers start their golfing journey here at Ladybank and we hope your child might be one of the next. If that is not their aim, then we simply hope that they might enjoy learning new skills and have fun along the way, in a great safe golfing environment.

The delivery of junior golf coaching at Ladybank is ran by the Head Professional, Sandy Smith and supported by the Assistant Professionals along with a dedicated team of volunteer coaches. A junior co-ordination group is ran to ensure that we are monitoring, developing and delivering a high level of golf coaching which is tailored to the needs of all junior abilities.

Coaching and Golf – mid April until end September (24 weeks)

Thursday nights (with an overspill on a Wednesday night if required).

  • Our session 1 group (circa 5-9 years) meet at the Pro Shop 4.35pm for a 4.45pm start at the Wee Course, for 45 mins coaching with a Professional and volunteer coaches. This can be followed by either 5 or 9 holes on the Wee Course. This golf can be played by junior members and non-members. Please note parental supervision will be required for juniors wishing to play the Wee Course. Following coaching and/or golf, juniors will return to the Pro Shop and finish at around 6.15pm.
  • Our session 2 group (circa 10-14 years) meet at the Pro Shop at 5.05pm and will head to the warm up area for some coaching with a Professional and our volunteer coaches for 45 mins. Thereafter, optional but preferred, head out to the Championship course (junior members only) for 5/7/9 holes with parental supervision.
  • Our Junior Co-ordination Group will meet after coaching every Thursday to review activities, record and plan ahead accordingly.
  • The majority of Junior Golf communication will take place using WhatsApp messaging. This will include messages regarding changes to coaching/cancellation due to poor weather, competition news and general information.

SAFEGUARDING YOUR CHILD’S WELFARE

Our annually reviewed safeguarding policy is looked after by our safeguarding officer at the club via Scottish Golf (SG). All our volunteer coaches have the appropriate accreditation to be able to help children in golf and are fully compliant in all SG Safeguarding policies.
